What is a Doula?

A doula is a birth companion, there to provide continuity of care whether you’re planning on giving birth at home, in a birth centre or hospital. Doulas support parents to prepare for birth by being an informational resource but also through exploring fears, anxieties and preconceived notions in the hopes of reducing the impact these may have on birth outcomes.

Studies have shown that doula support during labour reduces the likelihood of caesarean, preterm births, labour duration and pain, and the risk of postpartum depression while increasing breastfeeding rates.

Birth & Postnatal Doula Support

  • Birth preparation sessions in the comfort of your own home

  • Continuity of care

  • Private pregnancy yoga sessions and meditations to prepare mentally and physically for birth (optional)

  • Attendance at birth (home, birth centre or hospital)

  • Postnatal support: birth debrief, emotional support, cooking nutritious recovery assisting meals, time with baby while you catch up on sleep, practical guidance for baby bathing and breastfeeding if needed, partner back to work plans and transition support etc.

Package inclusions:

  • 5 x antenatal sessions

  • Attendance at birth

  • 2 x postnatal sessions



Antenatal sessions: 1-2 hours in person
Postnatal sessions: 3-4 hours in person
Most sessions will take place in the comfort of your own home
On call for birth from 37 weeks
Birth support at home, birth centre or hospital
At least one antenatal session 1-on-1 with birthing person
One antenatal session 1-on-1 with birth partner
Option to add additional postnatal sessions
